    Old Fashion Love

I remember when we used to make love without trying
You would send chills down my spine
    And make my leg shake

Back when love wasn’t about you or me
    But about us
    Us Making love special
    Us Making love last
    Us Making love magical
Us Making love on a regular basis

Back in the day when you and I came before our friends
    Our cars
    Our dogs
    Our jobs
    Everything
    Those self-less days

You know those days when we cared about us
    The Happiness
    The Safety
    The Beauty
    Of us

Back when you would tell me how good it felt
    Those black light
    Slow jams
    Leg shaking
    Up all night long
    Days

Those I can’t wait to see you days
I just needed to hear your voice days
Those I can still smell your scent on my pillow days

    The good old days
When we had that old fashion love
    That old fashion magic

I remember coming home and telling my friends that I’d just met my future husband
When you told me loved me over the phone by mistake
The first time we starting picking names for our future children
Back when we spent time together
    Just talking
    Just enjoying each other
    Sharing that old fashion love
    Enjoying the good old days
    And
    Nothing else mattered
Those days when we understood each other
    Those passionate days
    Those days I’ll never forget

    Now that life’s on hold
Is sit back and think about
Why love ‘s not the same
    Why things changed

    I day dream about
    Those old school
    Old fashion
    Out of date
Good old Days of me and you
    and I wonder how
    When
    Why
    That old fashion love ….

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
