Once More

Once more I'll reach out my hand
Looking for another to hold on to

Once more I'll call out your name
Waiting for you to hear my voice

This soul mystery of mine
Slowly opens to your eyes

The night as it comes calms me
The sun as it rises mends me

Once more I'll rest my palm
At the tip of your strong fingers

The smell of the ashes in air
The feelings of our heart laugh

Listening as the clock tower rings
Footsteps lightly, quickly treading

Once more I'll search for your smile
Even knowing it won't last freely

Once more I'll fly to your side
Even if my wings are chained

Our future is my reality
I'll live it till the afterlife

The touch of your lips
The sky calls out to me

Once more I'll break my mask
Once more I'll give you my all

Wow I really loved that poem. I though it was great. I was actually reading through your poems and I think they are all great and spoken with a lot of heart. I do have a suggestion though. Mabe you could make a poem that rhymes. Those are my favorite kinds. I do not mean to critisize, really. I do love you poetry and the way you express yourself. :)

It needs a question to ask the reader. This poem is good, but could be better with a question or two for the reader. Yes, a question. I'm repeating myself. Does that seem annoying?

Thanks for the comment.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
