    Over the Past

We were in love or so I thought,

Though like many others, I know we fought.

I felt so safe, so secure in your arms,

You were my love, what happened to your charm?

Why did you let go, let the feelings die?

Getting over the past; oh, how I cry.

How could you betray; the love that would not sway?

Though all the pain, caused my heart to fray.

Overcoming the world and its lies we had to face,

Holding on to your love, of doubt I didn’t want a trace.

What happened to my knight, how could he turn his back?

Where did I go wrong, what did I lack?

With the help of my Father, I can be strong,

He alone, can give me the strength to go on.

Facing the past and joyfully looking ahead,

When I am weak, He will stand in my stead.

ty Ron I am and going on to even betterby the grace of God!!!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
