    Feelings

I don't need to know your name

when you knock upon my door.

I don't need to see your face

as you reach into my core.

I feel your breath, hot, on my chest.

I hold the screen door tight.

I can't let you in, certain death.

But, let you in I might.

    Now or tomorrow

    or with my last goodbye.

You enter in as long tailed wisps

pull through like threads on high.

They lay me bare, in limbic dance,

    I open to the stream.

Each breath the movement pushes forth

    It’s never what it seems.

At first it’s cold then warm release,

    the feeling passes through.

But I’m still here, surprised, alive.

    There’s nothing more to do.

A hollow tube is what I'd be

if I would stop the fight.

    Life unfettered flowing through

    unto my own delight.
