    Phone Call

The phone rings once every few months

That number shines in the darkness

You call to make sure the pain sticks

To make sure tears are always there

Things you cant forget running through your head

He wants to make sure that you feel dead

He tells you he loves you and he wants to see you

But then starts yelling to make you mad

Your mind shuts down as you start to cry

You want to talk it out with him

But it will just end up in a fight

The day after the words ring in your head

It was just a phone call but one you’ll never forget

Great poem, but I am sorry for your pain. I hope things are better for you now.

this gave me chills. Very awesome Aly. This is a great way to get things out-and with this talent to boot-it's going to work for you. Keep it up. And--Im sorry you had to deal with this pain. a friend, Karen

I've been through things like this so i know what your going through and went through. It's tough but you will pull through. Just remember that someone always loves you even it things like this happen. Keep writing what you feel and you will feel better.

Oh honey, I don't know what to say to this. I wish I could take all the bad memories and all of the pain away. I really do. He will NEVER hurt you or your brothers again as long as I can help it. I will fight him with every breath in me. I love you baby girl. Never forget that for a moment.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
