    Pressure

Just one time they would say,
Take one sniff and all your fears will go away
will it make me into a man,
or will it turn me into a mouse
or will it send me to a madhouse

Everywhere I go, I hear the voices in my head
take it youth, it wont leave you dead
    The pressure is unbearable,
it makes my mind so unstable.
    Should i give in?
    or should I stay strong
Maybe I need a place where I belong.

    What influence is this?
Is it good or is it bad?
The pressure is too much to bear
I need to clear my head

Without waiting to think, I dashed into space
Down the corridors and through the doors
Am i really safe? safe to go on
    Safe, so safe from myself.

As an adult, this poem makes me happy to see such a behavior and resistance to the dark path and its ultimate destruction.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
