    Poem Commentary

Song recorded with band on last 5 year creative roll... hope this new one will last, more to come...

    Prisoner Of Skin

You are outside but the walls cave in
You are a stranger to yourself now
    False beliefs come tumbling down
    Standing naked, dancing along
With the dance of death, rhythm of life
The drum beats visions in your mind
There is nothing inside, a shell of a man
And you cannot hide; you are a prisoner of skin
    Standing naked, dancing alone
The beating hearts of the two worlds collide
You are entranced at the dance
You are called back and forth through time
Riding high on a sea of emotions
    Open wide, wide open
There is nothing inside, the shell of a woman
And you cannot hide; you are a prisoner of skin
The shell was old the remains were thrown
Into the pool of sacrifice, among the broken bones
Drowning lies, innocence lost to an illusion
Innocence something I can never hold or taste
Time heals all wounds as it erodes away
There is nothing inside, the shell of a man
And you cannot hide; you are a prisoner of skin

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
