He looks at me as if he’s lost.
He can’t remember who I am.
Look at how much this pain has cost.

Worse than me, he can’t remember you.
When was the last time he called your name?
Are we all going to suffer this pain, too?

How could You let this happen for a second time?
Wasn’t it enough that she went through this?
Now you’re taking, yet again, what’s mine.

    He’s, yet again, sitting there.
Where’s the doctor to tell him it’s ok?
Why can’t I just tell him I care?

For the third time, they found it,
    Those hideous blobs.
This time, can we fight it?

He’s been fighting this for a year.
Wasn’t it enough that he won and lost once?
Why must we keep shedding these tears?

We’ll pull through, you always say
    But how will we manage?
Who else will have to pay?

    So many questions without answers.
    You always kept us waiting.
    So many questions without answers.

This is a good poem, and causes the reader to feel your pain. Such a sad subject. Keep writing.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
