    " Can I "...

    Can I be the one
To take away all of your pain
Can I spend the rest of my dayz...

    Can I be the one
To give you all that you deserve
Your smile shoul be made, a statue
    For the rest of time...

    Can I be the one
To wipe away all of your tears and
Never leave your side through all of this worlds uglyness and confusion...

    Can I be the one
    To come to your side
If ever the battle is to much
To cover you and take every strike

    Can I be the one
    Who is truly the one
Whom "HE" has created for you
    For a divine purpose...

    Can I be the one
    That will open your eyes...
That you may see, for your heart I am willing...

    Can I be the one
    To know all your needs
No matter where I may be in this world

    Can I be the one
To feel all of your emotions
For all of your burdens, I am, I live...

    Can I be the one
    That you see and feel
When you lay alone in your bed at night...

    Can I be the one
To just hold you while we sit and listen to the silence

    Can I be the one
To bring peace to you and surround you and protect
    you from all the chaos...

    Can I be the one
To connect to your soul and finally say to you
All that I have been so afraid to say...

Can i simply be the one to say to you

    "Can I"...

thank you ndg... i have not been that active here in a while. I guess I was a little disappointed that it seems so long before anyone may read your poem.

Thank you... Its from the heart. Its been a long time since I've been here. Hope all is well with you...

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
