    "Memories"

    # 3 “Memories” November 3 2003

A few lines from a troubled mind!

Once upon a time, From the recesses of my mind

Comes! Thoughts now and then, that have been held in a pen.

Was there really a time and place of thought’s, I’ll have to face?

May no maybe yes!, only time will tell I guess?

We beat ourselves about the brow, to be at home milking the cow!

I’m getting long in the tooth now! Time to be going there are fields to plow.

What is it we cherish most today, Life? Or Ghost of Yesterday?.

Some of US will never understand Why, we’ve killed another Man.

Once bitten twice shy, again it’s time to go and cry

Have to continue on knowing that the road is long.

To be used in life is sometimes fate! I hope Saint Peter opens the gate!

We are told of Gods unrelenting Grace! Someday soon I’ll see His face.

I will always remember this song, ”You have to walk that lonesome valley alone”

    John Bird

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
