Poem Commentary

just had some thoughts on the re-'s of life

Reconnection

what can i do for you? restoration is my name
there is some stuff that needs refurbishing
touchup to the surface issue
reveals a forgotten purpose
after an initial wipe down we can hit restart
some things need some tender love and care
reignite the spark
trim away the overgrowth to shed light
on the broken
repair of the rusty and stagnant parts
brings revival new motion
recondition the main part of function
bring back the bounce of responsibility
and a place in space
this all can be avoided when maintenance is used
lack of affection gave way to neglect
outdated or left to allow abuse by elements
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
love is found in all life recommit
aged like fine wine or some cheddar
the older the better
time to rebuild this land
stand firm on the ground
that was planted by our past
find the youth in our heart and mind
for no fear and no boundary lay within these confines
recycle the good and reuse the strength of before
because we all need another chance
to start afresh, be reborn
history and reflection prove perfection
be blameless
for waste and emptiness are to be no more
again, in the name of restoration
what can i do you for

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
