Rising From the Ashes

Rising From the Ashes

Once queen of my world and now a mere peasant
just trying to find where I belong in the world
but I'm now like a phoenix rising from the ashes
fresh and new ready to fly
where ever the wind may carry me.
unsure of what the world has in store for me
again like a child learning to walk on my own
testing the waters protecting my heart and soul
from strangers that may come in.
standing on familiar ground so that I may
grow again this time stronger and smarter

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
