Soaring

Soaring

My wings are stretched out wide
soaring high in the bright blue sky.
the warm sun glistening off my soft feathers.
free at last from my self captured cage.
my soul filled with bliss
kissing the sweet scent of
love that floats in the air
flying free never looking back at
the gray cynical cloud that once
hung over head has finally dissipated
into sweet warm rain
that ascends down carelessly
bringing my earth
back to its rich colors brightening
the soul, heart and mind.
never again allowing the gloomy
cloud to step foot on my earth again.

i love the way you described the feeling. its like i was the bird. beautiful writing

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
