S.h.a.r.d.s

I chanced upon
An old broken glass
With its shards
Scattered apart

My heart went out to it
For no one, even I
Knew, just what it felt
Seeing its broken pieces
Scattered all about

The pain of being alone
Broken, the agony
Of losing, oneself
For someone
The tragedy of taking all the pain
When all the world remained
Oblivious

For if it only had
Feelings, the courage
To express
What it felt inside

It would cry
Unceasingly
Hoping that
Someday
Its tears
Would eventually
Put together
Its broken pieces
