Sheep

Ewe work and ewe play

Believing in god but fearing the day

Ewe shit where ewe sleep

In most places it’s deep

Ewe reap what ewe sow

and fall short of the goal

Ewe fuss and ewe fight

Never knowing what's right

Ewe sleep and ewe wake

And ewe’ve burned at the stake

Ewe push and ewe you pull

As ewe fight for control

Ewe live and ewe die

As ewe barely get by

Ewe win and ewe lose

Ewe drink all the booze

Ewe look to your priest

But ewe only get fleeced

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
