    I wrote this when I was having relationship problems and I started to wonder why some girls act the way they do.

    She's just like other girls

    Heard her crying

    She needs help

    Needs protection from herself

    Craves attention but not too much

    Nothing can please her

    Nothing will

    Emptiness is so hard to fill

     

    she’s just like other girls

    self absorbed and broken hearted

    all f**ked up and just retarded

    she’s just like other girls

    the American girl

    shops away her pain

    cosmetics cover flaws

    rationalization doesn’t exist

    because she can’t buy it

    has everything and more

    but she’s still insecure

    she can’t help it

    because she can’t dream

    you just can’t buy self esteem

    What a sad commentary on so many young girls! I think you hit the nail on the head, self esteem is sorely lacking in a world that values looks over all else. Impossible to live up to the standards set everywhere, t.v. magazines, movies, etc.

    I basically just told the truth with that poem. It is truly sad what expectations are thrown upon younger women. It is truly sad that our society has changed a great deal due to consumerism at others expenses. Everyone has to be "perfect" there are surgeries to be perfect, diets, expensive clothes, etc. Our society is superficial and fake. I wish it were not like that but it is. Thank you for the comment.

    i like this alot, actually. i see girls like this every day... and can be one. as i was reading it, i actually got a tune for your chorus in my head... lol... thats the singer coming out in my i guess

    thanks a lot yeah I didn't even know how to classify it I have a weird style of writing I write music as well. I have a lot of things written this is the first time anyone other than my close friends have seen it. Thanks for the comment.
