Sly wily fellow

Sly Wily Fellow recites story
From behind smoking pipe

When I was a small boy
I created worlds in which to dream
Vast empires to conquer
Leaving smoky tales for
Fabled Bards to sing

I had princesses to rescue and love
Gave them pearls, gave them doves
And I did it all within
A room of brown
A room of brown

And within it’s shadowy fold
I embraced fantasies and willful woeful Stories
I flew with birds and felt free
Played and danced with the twinkling stars
And the howls of the
Merry sometimes-smiling moon
From within the shadows and the trees

And I went to bed every night
With the scent of flowers
And the soft sound of ocean waves
Lapping up on sandy sultry beaches
And every morning I woke
To the warmth of soothing sunrays softening
My sweat soaked flesh
Tantalizing and teasing the
Glory of a morning’s misty breath

And I did it all within
A room of brown
A room of brown
druidic healing crowns
swan lakes of moonlight’s merry howling face
branches reaching with quests
birthed in heaven’s graceful gate
a last lonely call to fate

all within a room of brown
a room of brown

and oh yes!!!
Here they come, here they come,
The jokers and the clowns
Sexy white strapped ladies with dainty hankies
And creased weather torn frowns
And then of course the wolves
Slathering and slavering in their belated hunger
Yellow and green dragons
Filling the air with fire’s
Forked danger
And Reality!!!!!
The scariest demon of them all

And on that note
Begins the telling of the story
An antiquated story about two lovers
Entwined equally between the freedom of destiny
And the cage of history

The Wolf Knight and his Ferocious Feline
Their movements sending ripples through
The strings of time
A blind man walking the tightrope of rhyme

The world turns
Another chapter

They fought as much as they loved
One liked ravens, the other,
Doves

But oh how they lit up a room
Like the sun at high noon
Or the flowers in the summer when they bloom

It made a storyteller want to cry,
Weep in the wildness
The chaos

Brown rooms and faded ghost friends
Gather to say goodbye
Smoke a joint
And get real fucking high
Wanna talk about this storybook romance
Enmeshed in the tenderness of spirit and flesh

An invitation goes out to
The clowns and the monkeys
The sexy ladies and their flunkies

For now the trip begins
The trip begins

A caravan struggling towards
A jeweled horizon
Holding secret ridden smiles
And worn scarred hands
Left over players from the silent band

And our couple, our couple
Glide up that mountain forest walk
Fight side by side
Then stop under the moonlight
For a little, …talk

The crowd balances on tippy toes
Hoping to catch a glimpse
To the finish of this tale
Their impatience gliding
On the rhythms of their
Hips, smirks and grins

The story dissolves into
Tranquil blue skies
Shaded dreams
Rooms of brown
Clowns with frowns
Gaps between God’s teeth

Sly Wily Fellow falls asleep
Pipe still burning,
smoking

Fantastic imagery, I'm inclined to make so many detailed evaluations, but I believe a tapestry as well woven as this is better left to my definition... Fantastic, truly fantastic...

not bad not great ,but ok for me

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
