Four Horseman

Rain Cross, Four Horses to a Trough

My Mama always said
Light a candle at night
And stroll through the wind
Shield it with your right
And spit out your sin

From the north, Death’s
Apocalyptic eyes falls
Upon junkie dreams
Street alleyed thugs
Flipping time for easy scores

Abandoned hovels with hopeless hollow
Shells that used to be men once
Upon a time

And T.V. new’s reels
Spread his gospel at 5, 6 and 11
Switching from hacked up flesh
In wanna be a star crimes
To teenagers with shoot’em up blues

And his decayed teeth push his feral lips
Into what could only be called a grin
And he beckons skeletal dismissal
To his fellow horse siblings
To emerge from their icy lidded
Graves and inspire the dead end trends
of armagetton to begin

While out of the east Famine
Stretches her insestious womb
Over the exposed mouths
Of trembling child hopes,
Visions deluged in a non-existent future
With no shadows in which to cast the fated dice
And she smiles wickedly
Listening to prayers and painful
Dirt strewn tears
Thrown against a Heaven
That has closed it’s doors

While people who believe birth is divine
Keep adding up the lines
Not caring wether the numbers that
Represent lives ever grow up to see what their made of

Cause there’s always another rice paddy
That needs to be
Filled with student protest dreams
And unfed corpses holding
Children’s faces,
Aspiration’s left unrealized,
Unfulfilled
Born at the wrong time, wrong sex,
Wrong quota

And maggots and rats and crows and vultures
Feast like true divinity
And Famine has taken her turn

While out of the south looms Pestulance’s
Pus filled cratered chiseled features
Spreading her infirmed bruised mottled legs
And touching herself with cracked teeth
Tainted moisture gathering for men to feed
Needles extending from holes in veins
High priced call girls blowing
Sypholous dreams

And when they said aid, it’s not aid
But aids that copulates future’s demise

While her carnival continues to elicit
Her slut fed smile
While she squeezes her sour milked
Crone like breasts
Racing her equine colleagues
Into the contest
For sinful opulence

And from the western realm
War chortles forth and insidious cackle
As he sups on richly meat laden table
Throwing chewed over bones to
Pock marked howling dogs
Who once resembled humanity’s visage

And the shells keep pounding and pounding
Distant shores
Foreign soldiers holding to
Chemical dreams as trophies to fighting
For home and country
Their lungs hacking up blood speckled freedom
and lied to government trenches
with political barb wire and
economic chess moves

and his scar torn bruised knuckles
continue hitting agendas
while the poor get poorer and
the rich get richer
and it all gets sewn up
on CNN late night
with the bow carefully color coordinated
with the wrapping

and the bullets keep getting cheaper
and cheaper,
easier to get
and the brethren of the horse
have placed their final bet
the beast awakened
seven trumpets sounding
with his forehead stamped
666

And my mama always said
Light a candle at night
And stroll through the wind
Shield it with your right
And spit out the whole world’s fucking sin
