    Snip, pin, stitch

    Snip, pin, stitch,
    snip, pin, stitch.
    Hands measuring,
    scissors flying,
    Singer humming.
    Snip, pin, stitch,
    snip, pin, stitch.
    Black cloth,
    white cloth,
    cloth of many colors
    parading under the needle.
    Snip, pin, stitch,
    snip, pin, stitch.
    Bears, monkeys, bats,
    trolls, sailors and fairies
    waiting to be born.
    Snip, pin, stitch,
    snip, pin, stitch.
    Oh, my!
    long strings, short strings
    pieces and pieces of cloth
    laying all over the floor.
    Snip, pin, stitch,
    snip, pin, stitch.
    Finally all is done.

    Maria Fischinger @ Chicago, 2007

    This made me smile.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
