So Guilty

Let’s shoot up and run,

Into the night away from the sun,

The haze descends and everyone looks beautiful.

Throw away the pills and throw up our hands,

The party has started,

But my point of reference has shifted.

Wake up in the morning and realise the sin,

I committed without a second glance,

Oh my God I’m so guilty.

But the same time on a different night,

You walk towards me and I realise,

It’ll happen again.

Trapped in a circle of death,

Spinning round and round like some sort of sick reel,

Don’t follow me for your safety.

This is the life that exists?

The momentum is building,

We’re heading for hell.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
