Soul Mate (1997)

Tranquil breeze envelopes me
As my mind wanders back with a thought of you
I remember the time, the time when I
First let you in my heart...

Across the airwaves, a voice so clear
So tenderly caressed my ear
Telling my soul what it longed to hear

Sweet release! Spirit freed!
Unleashing the tears of joy in me
Your words confirmed just who you were
And who we were to be

Together-yes! For the first time,

Reunion of bone and flesh
Your lost rib recovered

My prayer request made known to none
Yet pressing on my mind
Who would've thought so soon
An answer I would find

The words I spoke from deep within
Were only told to Him
Yet from your very lips
Came my heart's desire again

You wanted what I wanted
Believed as I believed
Loved as I loved
Experienced my life
All this I learned that very night

And since that day,
No wind can shake
Nothing can break
No one can take my love from you
From that day forth, I knew...

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
