Spent Youth

Spent Youth

As children we run and play in open fields.
We giggle and have no worries or cares.
We sing made up songs and play made up games.
We grow from that stage where were so confident of our selves and become teens.
Where we become so unsure of that same person we could choke on it.
We defy our parents.
We push authority to the point of breaking.
Then we are authority figures our selves.
We try and set rules and goals.
We try and show the new teens what they will to soon become.
We repeatedly tell, show, and demon strait who they will soon be.
Then we enter the last stage of our lives, if were lucky.
We become elders and are looked upon as wise.
The sad thing is some of us will not make it to the time were called wise.
We will die long before that day comes.
Look around at what stage of life your in.
Realize what you may or may not become.
Set those goals and reach for the stars.
Don't, above all else, let your youth be spent while it lays before your very feet.
