Steps To Live By

I come to Step One,
Having paid the cost,
My spirit weights a ton.
On to Step Two,
My hope begins to renew.
With a burst of faith,
I move to Step Three.
Death, destruction, filth and greed,
Left on the path behind me.
God gives me the courage,
To move on to Step Four.
With God holding my hand,
I work this step.
Honesty, Hope and Faith
Show me the way.
Step Five brings to light,
I no longer need to hide.
Steps Six and Seven,
Feel like no safe haven,
Instead they teach humility.
Love and Justice are my guides
Through Steps Eight and Nine.
To make right,
What I once made wrong.
Step Ten is One through Nine,
Everyday once again.
Step Eleven,
Keeps me talking to God.
With Step Twelve I pray,
To carry a message
Without such a mess.
To teach others,
What God and the Fellowship
So freely showed me.
Finally I return to
Step One.

i like the fact that you took the twelve steps and described the importance of God and of virtues. NA has become a thing of being politically correct and that is what causes people to fall away.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
