Superhero

Would you recognize me if I walked past you on the street? Would you stop me and say Hello?

You can see me everywhere, if you would just look for me.
I am looking at you with hope in my eyes and a prayer in my heart that you would save me.
I am that child you see in the store, or that child that you see in the car next to you, or even that child that accidentally bumps into you in the street.

I know you can see my scars and bruises on my face and on my body. But can you help me? Help me escape from this nightmare called life that i have been living.

My cries and scream are muffled by death threats given by my own parents.

I need a savior, someone that can be my superhero to take me away from the pain and torture of this life.

Can you be my superhero?

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
