    Tearless Cries

    Tearless Cries
    by Vincent T. McKnight

I listen. I can hear the cries. The cries sometimes silent, sometimes. Some expressed with anger and rage. Some bottled up, waiting to explode. hearts reaching out. Searching. mostly for love they never knew. They try to hide. Hide from the real. Few may find it. Many, never. The hurt continues, still hidden. Hurt that keeps them restrained. Hurt is the jailor, pride is the jail. The pain continues. Greed is the motivation, excused by the need. The need to survive. Survival blinded by the pain. Needless greed, negating the real. Hesitant to surface is the heart in need. Denying friendship, denying love. The cycle continues. Listen! you can hear the cries!!

    Thank You!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
