    Terrifying Monster

there is a monster in my closet.
    knocking and banging,
    trying to get out.
and when it finally breaks through,
will i be able to go up against it.
some may call the monster love,
    but i call it terrifying.
    ive encountered this monster before,
and it got a hold of me with its teeth and tore me to shreds,
    leaving me to die.
can i go up against it again and come out alive this time.
i am stronger and wiser now because of last encounter,
but along with the new bound strength comes the scars,
where its teeth bore into my skin, digging deep to my heart.
    those scars are my weakness's.
the doorways into my very being,
i hear it shaking and rattling the doorknob.
if he unleashes this unpredictable creature,
will i make it or become a part of its pack.
maybe, possibly, im not afraid of the monster called love,
    that dwells behind my closet.
but the monster that i could unleash.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
