The American Melody

 THE AMERICAN MELODY

Normal unto this day: Our personal world was spinning ever faster then spun to a stop.

The Ripley's believe it or not played out before our eyes.

The American way of life will never be the same as our hearts dropped.

Children running to parents: Did you hear? Did you hear what happened?

The Towers, The World Trade Towers have fallen and disappeared.

The parents running, phoning, and the hugging their children and doing so much more.

Some for the first time in along time, for others it was out of fear

and still others it went so much deeper and meant so much more.

Parents saying hug me closer, closer dear.

All of us thinking of those spirits rising above the ashes and rubble from the Pentagon to New York to Shanksville, Pa.

Clippings of American moment: Pieces and shapes siezed and etched.

Shawdows and flashes of faces. Moments beating its own pace of compassion.

They stretch our hearts never missing an "American Hearbeat".

"This land is your land. This land is my alnd. Making it "Our Land" all over again for you and me".

Never thought of much and taken for granted in the past.

These firefighters, Police Officers and to the Mail Delivery people just doing there duty in their humble pursuit of serving others.

Now in turn we are serving them by 1000 upon 1000 volunteers in the bucket brigade for many endless days.

American heart grew eight sizes that day as charitable contributions just grew and grew.

As the September 11th anniversary comes around year after year we will see or hear something new,

something old, smothing borrowed and something blue.

There were only few found alive under all that mass of rubble.

They must had  "A good luck penny in their shoe".

But most of all they remind us "To cherish each moment, to live each moment in perfect harmony".

The American melody we make is forever changing mirroring what is in our hearts

is a gift given unto each other.

The out come is a renewal of the American inner beauty.

Free flowing warmth made of iron and respected steel.

Flotaing and flying and free

The American Melody we are are so in love with thee.

So dreamingly.....

Our everyday life will get us down do not despair.

Argumenents will come and arguments will go.

We may not understand tham that is so.

As we fall in accord for our love of Liberty, she will show us were we need to go.

Remember these words floating, flying and free.

We are so in love with our American Democracy.

Only then we are able to set each other free.

American's linking together.

The bonds are stronger than ever.

It is our turn to carry these "Wall of names".

Only then will our freedom will keep on having a meaning.

We have not a fear. This yearning flames burns so dear.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
