    The Darkness of hell

I am beaten, bruised, as if every word I have ever spoken has been twisted and mangled into something ugly. As though every good deed has been overshadowed until each kindness falls to silence and dies. Each gesture of gratitude tipped with a shrug of disregard. Each smile of appreciation blurred and ignored. Each raised hand for justice and righteousness, pays in return, only ridicule and despair. Misery’s agony shadows my life and leads all the good that I am, into the darkness of hell.

i too have faced my inner demon, and was surprised at the face it showed me. normally people wander distractedly through life never pushing past what is the norm for the herd. this is what makes us who we are. and what makes us a force to be contended with. i like this very much. nice work.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
