    The Day You Left

    The Day You Left

    The day you left I caught my breath;
    It was hard to see you go
    My little brother has gone away;
    How this life forces one to grow

    I say a prayer for you each day
    That you’ll be safe and find your way
    For we are here on earth to learn
    Don’t let what others think;
    be of your concern

    The path that God has planned for you
    You will not know; until this life is through
    Believe you’re where you need to be
    And accept your role with dignity

    Too many times we get caught up
    On roads that lead us in a rut
    Quiet you mind and focus within
    You are being watched over,
    Hold up your chin

    When your faith is low and your hands are tied
    And you want to believe will you survive
    Though it seems you are alone
    Then you look at how much you’ve grown

    In times of doubt you can’t deny
    You’re protected by the Butterfly
