    The Deepening Blue

As I stare into the deepening blue of the midnight sky.  The chill of the winter breeze brushes gently across my face.  I stand with many, but I am alone in my thoughts wondering if you are touched by the same splendor of light shimmering down from the distant moon.  Do you smile at the thought that I to gaze at the same stars on this very night?  Is it even the distant moon that fills the darkness of my eyes, or is it the glow of your smile that I see from so far away?  Your beauty spreads throughout these far lands.  In such a place where beauties hand has not graced the ground in which I stand for many years passed.  Yet, here I am, a witness to an unprecedented miracle.  What my eyes are seeing they should not see.  The blind are frozen by the colors in you as I am now blinded by the beauty in you.  Our eyes first met by a power much greater than fate.  Even still, we remain separated, ripped apart by chance and spread the distance of two feuding countries.  Even still, I can feel the rhythmic pounding of your heart within my own.  The rise and fall of your chest is felt with every breath I take.  To breathe and feel the one I love so close, though you are a world away, is greater in force than the heat of the rising sun descending down upon the waiting horizon.  I breathe not the stay alive, but only to feel you near me.  Though hours may pass while standing here thoughts of you will deluge my mind like the exploding sound of two planets colliding, letting the impact of their embrace fall down on me like an avalanche of loves emotions:  washing over me as if I were standing underneath the warmth of a cascading waterfall, causing a stillness to settle throughout my soul, paralyzing the very nature through which I exist.  I endure a life time for everyday that we are apart.  I am like the rose that is incomplete without the sun or the rain.  To do without the rose would wither and die away, leaving her beauty and sweet fragrance as a forgotten memory.  Just as the rose, you are my sun and my rain that fill me full of life, without you I am incomplete.  So, I will wake tomorrow with the hope that she is a part of my life.  If she is not, and my prayers remain as just unanswered words then it will be just another day, another lifetime I will have to endure.

You really do have an amazing way with words. It's almost hypnotic to read you. Well done once again. I look forward to more from you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
