The Gift Of Life

The Gift Of Life

What you see on the outside is not the same within
There's a life and death battle going on,looks like death is going to win
Demons battle for my soul against what I know is right
I say a pray to the Lord just to win one fight
My days as a street hustler are forgotten and long gone
But the fight for my life still rages on
And I try to stay strong for the things I hold dear
My GOD and my family, the ones who still care
If I was trapped in a snare,I would not be alarmed
I would rather see myself hurt before others are harmed
Try to stay focused on the things in front of me
Forgive the wrong that people have done to me
And where I've wronged ask for forgiveness
Try to be nice and mind my own business
Sometime I forget and be led astray
But see GOD is still there to turn me back the right way
There is something people don't understand, the hardest thing to do is change a boy into a man
Life is a gift some think it's a curse
Well mine has gotten better, cause I've seen the worse

According to the passion in your work,...looks like life is going to win!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
