The Light

The light I search for is with in my soul Its pure, innocent , honest and bold it unlock the secret of stories never told Sitting by a fire with the family i love Searching for wisdom from high above The light is with in me for all my days God made the light I've changed my ways Now the blindfold is off my eyes No more tears No more lies The light has come out of me I look up a halo I do see Filled with the light now it surrounds me Am I an angle could this be? Follow the light and you will see.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
