THE MAN ON THE WALL

The man on the wall is watchin you
He sees everything you all do
He don't miss nothing , he's got a bird's eye view
So you better watch out I'm talking to you

Hey you on the corner sellin that crack
The man on the wall is watching your back
He's gonna be watching when they come for you
And lock you up for the evil you do.

Hey you in that house beatin your kid
The man on the wall just saw what you did
He's gonna be watchin when they come for you
And beat you down for the evil you do

Hey you in the bank with a gun in your hand
Why's it so hard for you to understand
You just can't go robbin your fellow man
That man's gonna be watchin when they come for you
To lock you up for the evil you do.

So listen up good and heed what I say
That man's on the wall every single day
He'll be watchin if they come for you
And take you away for any evil you do

I swear I read that in Johnny Cash's voice in my head. My type of poem 10!

Awesome reminder that the man on the wall is watching even more than "Big Brother" is. I like the message of this piece and I even like the tone. Post more. I'd like to read more of your work.

Excellent piece I love how you worded this in a way that seems geared toward the youth of today. Loved your words, flow, and best of all your message. Well done.

Thank you. would you believe the whole thing came to me in about an hour? I was listening to Phil Collins "THE MAN ON THE CORNER" and for some reason the WWII symbol Kilroy cme to my mind then the words for my poem just started flowing into my head. I still have the origional scrap paper I wrote it on back in '92

Some think they are bad to the bone and their deeds will not be atoned but there is always a day of reckoning.

you got that right. Call it Karma,God's punishment, a natural balance... whatever you want. Sooner or later we all pay for our sins against each other AND Nature.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
