The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour

As midnight approaches
I hear the cry of the hopeless

Crying of what they need in life
Dying of their stress and strife

Conflict pursues them endlessly
And the only one that can help is me

A star gaze is all I have to fight
A gaze so strong and full of might

It rips through the edge of tonight
Giving me a divine light so bright

Dreaming of a seemingly endless war
I find myself just as confused as before

I could never find what the hopeless needed
I could never find a means in which to feed it

I can’t feed the different creeds
I can’t find the giving tree

A tree which bares but one fruit
A tree which bares only the truth

The truth of the hopeless
A truth in which approaches

It approaches only the cowards
Upon the gaping midnight hour

I like this poem a lot. And yes, the time is approaching. About 3 and a half years from now?

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
