    The New Philosophy

    It’s all about me.
    That is the new philosophy.
    Manipulation and deceit.
To get the new fruit that is sweet.

Relativism is what we call this.
What is good for me, may not be good for you,
    But I embrace something new.

I do not care about how you feel.
What is important to me, that’s what is real.
Lie and cheat, and sneak way.
All so I can have a better day.

Sell my soul, for a moment of fame.
I will lie to myself, and say there is no shame.
It is all relative you see.
What is good for all, may not be good for me.
So I will reject the masses, for my new philosophy.
    It’s all about me.

If I hurt you, why should care?
Being kind to you gets me nowhere.
    Lying to you, it’s ok.
    I don’t love you, I love me.
And that is the new philosophy.

    But the truth be told.
    I embrace what is old.
    I reject the new philosophy.
I remember, it is not all about me.

It is in giving that we receive.
It is in loving that we are loved.
It is in understanding that we are understood.
It is giving mercy we shall receive mercy.
In bringing joy to other, we are given joy by many.

This is the old way, it leads to a better day.
A better day not just for me, but for all.
In this way, when I have all that I need,
    I will not be alone.
Because I did not do it for me.

wow. i agree with this philosophy. But i believe there must be a balance between loving and letting go.one cannot help another without loving thyself first.

The underlying theme of this work focuses on the narcissism that exists throught today's society. I takes the reader to a conclusion with a clear message. Very Nice

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
