The Picture
If a picture is worth a thousand words
Than yours is worth more than gold
For you see my darling
It's the only thing I can still hold.
You're in my dreams most every night
Seeing and holding you ever so tight.
Some dreams are pleasant
But others are so full of fright!!
I can see and feel your auburn hair
All the while sitting in your favorite chair.
Your smile and the color of your eyes
Sometimes, I want to quit and just sigh.
Other times? Sometimes, I'd like to cry.
When I look at your picture
It gives me the strength to go on.
You've told to look to the future
The past is to look fondly on.
To be able to hold you again is but a dream
Impossible, I admit or so it sems.
But dreams of you again tonight
May they be pleasant and not full of fright!!
For your picture is what I see every day
In my dreams every nightis where we lay.
Holding, kissing, caressing and making sounds
For it's in my dreams, my love for you abounds!!
But if a picture is worth a thousand words
Than yours is worth more than gold.
For you see my darling
It's the only thing I can still hold!!
