    The Sky

    Therein lies the brilliant sun
The comforting moon and the brightening stars
The opportunity of seeing the wonderful creator
In his paradise with his realm of angels
Under its canopy we are safe

    The world’s greatest creature
    How I admire the sky
Peaceful and blissful it ever looks
Not disturbed by the bustle beneath
Seems like the best place one can be
It looks like a stream of sky blue ice cream
Sometimes I wish I could get a cup full

    Lovely sky
    Everywhere in the world
    Symbol of peace
    Symbol of comfort
I look up to you with a sad heart
And I look down brighter than ever
You brighten me, you and your heavenly friends
That’s why you are my friend
    I love the sky

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
