    the storm

I can see the storm coming in the distance
I can feel the cold wind against my face
and though I feel that I should leave here
I find that I seem to be stuck in place

the bolts of lightning illmiate the sky
and the thunder crashes shockingly into my ears
I am transfixed and in awe of the coming storm
and seem to brush off all my fears

I can feel the rain start to come down and kiss the ground
as the storm presses itself into my space
but I welcome the feel and the taste of the cold clear water
as if cascades upon my body and face

I revel in the severety of the storm
and I am pleased that I can be inside this savage spree
for it is both exhilerating and frightning
but only hold promise and power for me

I know the storm shall pass and soon be gone
like all things that come and go
but its beauty and power will be always with me
and its true beauty I will hold dear and always know

I never fear the rain or storms
for in them I find comfort and strength within
and this helps me to be strong enough to live day to day
and even when I must fight, to sometimes win

    I love it!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
