The Unknown

Dark corners, hidden from view
Mysteries unknown, unclear
You cannot understand the darkness
You fear it is different
You fear it is a different world
Different life
Different people
Different values
Different religion.
What if
I told you
This was not true
What if I said
It is just like you
It is human
Believes in life, like you
They work hard for thier money, like you
They love like you
See like you
Would you urn on the light?
Face the unknown
Or walk the other way?

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
