Those Late Night Calls

Been through it all
No one else to call
Wishing youd pick up the phone
So I wont be alone

Your voice mail comes on
I think my mind is gone
I start to cry
Feeling like Im about to die

You call me back
My heart starts to beat off track
Your voice sends chills down my spine
Wishing you'll say everything is fine

You start to talk my worries go away
Still waiting to be back in your arms one day
You say you still love me
But something wont let us be

I can hear it in your voice
You dont want it to be your choice
We talk like nothing is wrong
But it can only go on for so long

We hang up the phone
Wishing it wouldnt end alone
We go to bed in so much shame
Wishing things would be the same

Wishing things didnt change
Cuz our love is so out of range
No one will ever understand
The way I felt when I touched his hand

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
