    To Cory
    I try lying to myself
    Saying everything will be okay
    Yet it still seems
    That life will never go my way
    I look to the time
    That I'll spread wings and fly away
    And then
    I see you, my dearest friend

    Without a sound
    You let me know
    As long as you're around
    It'll be okay
    I'll find my strength
    Somehow, I'll find a way
    To make it through...
    Because of you

    Silent words of encouragement
    Lie within your happy smile
    Even though I feel defeated
    That token lasts awhile
    Cruel words scar me
    So I put them in a pile
    Until
    I see you, my dearest friend

    Without a sound
    You let me know
    As long as you're around
    It'll be okay
    I'll find my strength
    Somehow, I'll find a way
    To make it through...
    Because of you

    Friendship is the spice of life, one true friend is all anyone needs
