    To Him

SOMEDAY I HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE A HOUSE FOR YOU INCLUDING ME. WITH WINDOWS EVERY KIND AND SIZE AND DOORS THAT MOVE WITH MILD SURPRISE. IN UNEXPECTED PLACES NOOKS, WITH ROOM ENOUGH FOR TWO AND BOOKS. AND RAFTERS IN THE LIVING ROOM TO LOWER IT WITH FRIENDLY GLOOM. A FIREPLACE MADE LARGE AND WIDE THAT KINDLY KEEPS ITS SMOKE INSIDE. A DINING ROOM MADE MODESTLY AND BRIGHT WITH INFORMALITY. AND STARIS WHERE I CAN PAUSE AND SIT WHENEVER I JUST THINK OF IT. A DEN FOR YOU AND YOU WONT KNOW, ILL USE IT WHEN I WISH TO SEW. AND  ALWAYS IN YOUR FAVORITE CHAIRS, A HAZE OF DOG AND KITTEN HAIRS. A GATE THAT HOLLY HOCKS WILL HIDE AND ONLY LET OUR FRIENDS INSIDE. SOMEDAY I HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE A HOUSE FOR YOU INCLUDING ME.

I absolutely love this happy little poem, it's fun and full of life and simple pleasures that bring us such family contentment. You did a wonderful job with all of the little sneaky light hearted things that are on the way when the new house actually comes their way...great play on words, really funny and bright.. I Love It...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
