To Whom it Concerns

To whom it concerns:
I grew up alone,
Never quite getting
Just the right tone.

To whom it concerns:
My family is gone.
Spread across the world,
My family is one.

To whom it concerns:
I fell in love with a friend
But his choice to cheat
Brought an untimely end.

To whom it concerns:
I love him still
And probably
I always will.

To whom it concerns:
People think I'm smart-
But what's the use of brains
When you have a broken heart.

To whom it concerns:
I'm still just a kid,
So please don't ask me
Why I did what I did.

To whom it concerns:
I really do try,
But sometimes I have to
Just sit down and cry.

To whom it concerns:
I've had a tough time-
Sometimes I feel like dieing,
Though I'm in my prime.

To whom it concerns:
Why do people lie?
And why do the ones I love
Either leave or die?

To whom it concerns:
I act like a tomboy,
But I'm still a girl.
Don't treat me like I'm some toy.

To whom it concerns:
I try to be strong-
But sometimes a hug
Is where I belong.

To who it concerns:
People tease me in the hall.
I know I'm not perfect,
But they make me feel small.

To whom it concerns:
I just need a friend-
Someone who'll be there
Till the end.

To whom it concerns:
Just one thing to say-
Did he ever love me,
Or was it a play?

I've never felt loved,
And it really burns.
Just thought I'd mention it
To whom it concerns.[/align]

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
