    Tonight

    Tonight another child cries
Father comes home mad as hell
Cause as usual his day never goes well
Taking it out on the food mom sets on the table
"Making a proper meal, it seems your not able"
He slaps her as she rises to stand
Little boy stiffles his cries with his hand

    Tonight another child cries
Today her mother was laid to rest
Everyone says "Honey its for the best"
She does remember mom in so much pain
But what she wouldn't do to hug mommy again
Tomorrow it's off to foster care
Little girl sobs as she combs her hair

    Tonight another child cries
In class, all day, she couldn't concentrate
Thoughts in her head, enraged with hate
"I just wish that bastard was dead"
How could she ever forgive uncle Ted
The scent of him so poignant
Young girl cries at the fact of being pregnant

    Tonight another child cries
"It's ok I fell down the steps"
Stopping anyone from getting to in depth
No one to trust with whom to converse
Having to keep it in just makes it worse
    Wiping away every little teardrop
Young boy hopes the beating will stop

    Tonight another child cries
"You're such a dumb, stupid kid,
"I asked for one thing and look what you did"
    Everytime he makes a mistake
Those words deliver such a heart break
This child once again contemplates suicide
Wondering if his death would make them satisfied
