    Trapped from Freedom

    Trapped inside this small shell
    is a wild spirit
who tries to break away from hell
    with all her merit

As the chain links begin to snap
this spirit begins to be free
she slowly peels away the sap
that bound her to her tree

    Freedom is a breath away
    but she can't reach it
    is she cursed to stay
    in this binding nit

She knows she must break clear
    or forever risk
    and forever fear
to live in her hellish existence.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
