    Surrender

It was hard in the beginning.
I thought it was a race worth winning.
I had to sit back for awhile and let myself smile.
I had to remind myself, I am not in charge.
I had to remind myself, I am little.  There is someone much bigger,
there is someone with Grace.  I have to let him take my place.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
