Untitled

I have walked this earth a shattered soul,
my hearts been broken and left alone.
I've gone through changes within the past,
changes that never seem to last.
This time I have found a new place,
where I can rest my battered face.
How long, I wonder, will it be,
till life takes it away from me?
I have finally found a place to call home,
a place my heart can call it's own.
So many trials, so much pain,
will it last or will it hurt again.
I sit and enjoy the happiness I have,
hoping that this time it will last.
I keep my head up as I walk straight,
trying to survive this warm embrace.
I bask in the meadow of god's wonderous land,
feeling the warmth of his hands.
He holds me to his willing heart,
and I somehow I know it won't be torn apart.
Family, friends, guys, have all come and gone,
But there is only one person who stays strong.
He has been there for me through thick and thin,
Loves me unconditionally like no one can.
He is the one who kept me alive,
he is the one who has been by my side.
All this time I felt alone and cold,
and through it all he was there when I needed someone to hold.
