Voices across the Sea

I hear your whispers in my head like oceans rumbling waves clashing....

"I miss you"
"I am miserable since you left my life"
"Come back"
shared thoughts between people who once shared a connection now riddle me with painful memories

The boat of dreams has set sail and made a journey once
it left its port, made a good run through choppy waters and drifting channels
The boat returned home however with a lonely Captain who chose his route
through words etched deeply as a cartographer etches a map....
words that echo like a sirens wail
and will continue to echo
the end of the Voyage has arrived and all of the passengers and crew did not survive only the Captain
who is all alone in himself..
sending messages across the sea like S.O.S.
for mermaids to hear...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
