    Waiting

    I know you’re there
    That you could care
    If only you knew
    I was here for you

    I’m waiting for you
    To show me your love
    Let me in your life
    I want to know you

    I’ve been waiting for years
    And I’ve shed many tears
    Waiting for you to see
    How great I could be

    I know I’m not pretty
    And not very smart
    But if only you tried
I would give you my heart

    I wait for your touch
    And experience a kiss
    I’m now eighteen
Never been touched with such bliss

    I’m waiting for you
    When will you see
That I’m here just for you
    Oh why can’t you see!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
