What is LOVE? ©

By: Philip ‘Ambassadorfil’ McKenley

Love is a four letter word more misrepresented, misunderstood and misconstrued than any other word in the English language.

The true definition of love is truly unconditional, all-encompassing and more opposite than any emotion, butterfly-effect or tingling.

It is utterly selfless, broken and contrite,

          Stronger than the greatest evil

Gently forgiving; gentlemanly winning every fight.

Love produces compassion – the main ingredient of faith

Abolishing all fear, unfailing, made perfect in grace.

Love is the mentor for the failing,

          The man who gives his best to the oppressed;

He weeps with you while you’re wailing,

          And joyfully dances when you’re blessed.

He is the possible in the ‘impossible’

          The Supernatural superseding logic;

With a power that is irretractable

          The Refuter for the devil’s magic.

He is the Defender for the rejected

          The Husbandman for those alone;

The Avenger for those wrongly affected

          By dangers that left them all so cold.

From the rain to the sunshine – fun time to downtimes,

He always increases without ceasing and yet can love us all at one time.

Love is God as the Bible says “God is Love”

          We can never ever understand this verb

Until we invite in our Lord Jesus above!
